Dogs and Dancers!

Category: Portraits | May 9th, 2018

The idea for this photo session started after watching a video and sharing it on Facebook. I have so many friends who have talented kiddos that dance. And I love animals so I also had tons of friends who would lend us their dogs. My friend Rose a fellow photographer also jumped at the chance to get this project rolling. The day of the event was filled with laughs and fun! From throwing hot dogs to costume changes – it was epic. A big thank you to Rose Bradley, and Steven Jackson for photographing and throwing treats, to Ron Pies at Studio 821 for the studio space. Also thanks to the dancers, dance moms, dog parents and dogs!!!

One of the best parts of having photographer friends is that they get your kind of crazy ideas. Rose invited me to this photoshoot with a clear vision. Candles, fog and a vintage piano – it was pretty epic. Luna was an amazing model and I am thankful that she would even hold a bird skeleton! A big thank you to Luna for modeling, Rose for setting up the decor and fog machine, Remy for lighting (and for blocking some of the lighting when I wanted a darker look for the floor) and Luna’s friend for assisting. Studio 821 and Ron I adore this new space for photos!

Meet Mary

Photographing a photographer – that will strike fear in even the most confident professionals! Meeting Mary while we both were volunteering to capture a local event I just knew I had to get to know her more. She is super sweet and also spunky. It was nice to have her in front of my camera and just to catch up. Thanks Mary for letting me play with my settings and testing the light for me. You are beautiful inside and out! Newport was such an eclectic background.
