A Special Thank You Note

I tend to keep a lot of things. My first job in high school was working at a small retail shop and the owner, Franny, was a saver – she saved everything. She had lived through the great depression as a child. Owning your own business creates even more things to keep for tax purposes. The other day I cleaned out one of my filing cabinets getting rid of old catalogs for frames, printing labs and albums. And yes it is sad how much things cost today compared to those numbers just a few years ago. But something made me stop. I found an old thank you note from the second wedding we ever photographed! I used to work with the bride and to be honest she helped us get our start in weddings. We photographed her friend’s wedding in Louisville and did such a great job she hired us for her wedding. From her wedding her DJ recommended us to our third wedding (and many more). In this way our business quickly grew. I love that referrals are still such a big part of our little company. It is the biggest compliment our couples can give and it means the world to us! Finding the thank you note really made my week. Seven years later we are still capturing wonderful memories to help our couples relive their special day!

Dear Brenda and Ben,
Thank you so much for the wedding gift – we can’t wait to see the coffee table book! (Our co-workers bought her a coffee table book as a wedding gift. It was a hard secret to keep) You both did an OUTSTANDING job with the wedding pictures – they turned out great. Thank you so much for doing all that work – we greatly appreciate it. Brenda – thank you for all your wedding advice and the emergency kit – it came in very handy!
