Congrats to Kristin and Luke, a Ryland Lakes wedding

There is a small little community in Northern Kentucky tucked away in between the rolling hills called Ryland Lakes. For Kristin it is where her family spends their summers. The couple braved the rain for the ceremony under the shelter of a few big trees. One small hiccup on the wedding day, the groom forgot his shoes. So he wore his dad’s and his brother in law wore his. After the ceremony they all switched and his sister helped him lace them up. The reception was held at the clubhouse just down the way. Luke danced with his mother to Days Like This by Van Morrison. “When it’s not always raining there’ll be days like this… well my mama told me there’ll be days like this.” To me that is exactly why I love weddings. It is a time to celebrate what is going right in our world and to pause and soak it all in together. Enjoy that joy! Seeing these two making each other so happy is everything. Luke and I didn’t meet until the engagement session but as soon as I saw them together I couldn’t help but know they truly belong together. Maybe it was because Kristin’s grandmother said they needed to meet (even though they had met in school awhile ago) and their families have so much in common. Or because they complement each other so well – one thing is for sure these two are so good together!

You did such a great job. The rain was a challenge but you got us through it.
