Spring Retro Fun!
Imagine a hat inspiring an entire bridal session! That is just what happened! After visiting a friend in a different part of town, I popped into a vintage store and found a hat that had to be mine. It would be perfect for a retro inspired bridal session. I also noticed they had many bridal gowns. As I ran back to my car in the cold rain an idea was brewing. What if I came back with a model and bought a dress? Spring was quickly on its way – could I pull this off with only a few weeks to plan? I remembered the flowering trees from one of my favorite engagement sessions from the previous year. So my concept shoot for a spring retro session was underway. I used Facebook to find a model – which only took a few hours and the response was great. Next I pulled together some of my favorite wedding vendors and I shared with them my storyboard and concept. The shoot was simple and fun – something that I could use to play with some different ideas. The day of the shoot Julie (our model) had her makeup done, I picked up the flowers and then we headed to the vintage store. Who doesn’t love playing dress up? Even as adults it is fun to play and do something out of the ordinary. The great thing about the vintage store is that nothing is very expensive. We added fun earrings and a blue hat. We hope you enjoy the photos below!
